Martha's Recovery Story at Heartland Health Care Center - Canton

"After my stay at St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor I was asked what center I wanted to go to. I chose Heartland Health Care Center - Canton due to the wonderful things I heard from my fellow church parishioners and friends. When I first arrived at Heartland, it felt like I was at a resort! It was that nice. I’ve stayed at other rehab centers but this was the best in terms of aesthetics, quality of staff and physical therapy. From the nursing aides to the nurses and physical therapists my overall experience was wonderful. My physical therapists, Nick and Nancy, helped me daily to reach my goal of living independently. The aides and nurses cared for me, provided great customer service, and showed respect and dignity for me even during my most challenging times when I lost my ability to move on my own. My most memorable moment was when I was concerned about my ability to get up from sitting on my couch at home. Nick, my physical therapist, challenged me and by the end of the day I was able to compete the task confidently. Additionally, the food was good.
