Celebrate National Social Work Month

The month of March marks the annual celebration of National Professional Social Work Month. This year’s theme, “The Time is Right for Social Work” was selected by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). We acknowledge over a century’s worth of contributions social workers have made and how the services they provide are increasingly important as our nation addresses economic inequality, systemic racism, the need for improved health and mental health care, Covid-19 and other issues.

Our social workers provide counseling and assistance with social and financial issues relating to a patient’s medical condition and connect patients with helpful community resources. Social workers are a valuable resource for our patients and their families. We hope that recognizing social workers for their hard work and dedication will also be a way of educating people about the resources available to individuals and families in need of assistance.

By recognizing National Professional Social Work Month, we intend to bring attention to the role that social workers play in alleviating personal and social issues. Social workers help people in all stages of life and in all situations through education and training. Hospice care, health, aging, cancer and mental health are just a few of the issues that social workers deal with on a daily basis. We are celebrating this month by recognizing and thanking social workers for enriching the lives of our patients.

We thank our social workers as well as all social workers around the country for their tireless effort to enrich the lives of patients every day. Social workers are an integral part of our team helping us fulfill our caring promises and providing the care our patients so richly deserve.
